Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Subscription Model work

Wil-U's unique subscription model is designed to make charity retail technology as accessible as possible. There are minimal upfront costs and no hidden fees or surprises throughout your contract. You pay the agreed fixed monthly subscription, and this includes software, hardware, and support.

What’s not included?

We have tried to include everything we can in the monthly cost to make it as simple as possible. The only things you need to pay extra for are:

  • Your card payment reader and associated fees
  • Consumables such as receipt rolls and labels.
  • Printing and sending Gift Aid letters (unless using our automated mailing service)
Is it necessary to have all Wil-U Solutions?

Not at all! Wil-U is totally modular so you can choose whatever solutions you need when you need them. While we recommend the core package of EPOS & Digital Gift Aid as a minimum, the flexibility remains in your hands.

We already have tablets. Can they be used, or do I need a Wil-UTablet?

The Wil-U tablets have been tried and tested and are locked down specifically to Wil-U to ensure security. They are also covered for any repairs or replacements when needed.

If I currently use another system, whether paper or digital, is thetransfer straightforward?

Absolutely. Transitioning from another system is easy, and our team will be available to assist you at every stage.

How easy is it to self-install?

Wil-U solutions are designed to be incredibly user-friendly, offering a plug-and-play experience. Self-installation is a breeze, as our solutions require only power cables. The equipment will arrive preconfigured, so all you need to do is plug it in.

Where is Wil-U based?

Wil-U is based in Derby, UK. Our support team is entirely UK-based, ensuring prompt and effective assistance for the Wil-U Family.

How does Wil-U contribute to sustainability?

Wil-U is committed to sustainability. Our tablet-based solutions are 20 times more energy efficient than the traditional systems and significantly reduce environmental impact by eliminating the need for paper usage. Our equipment is also supplied in packaging that is recyclable.

Is Wil-U scalable to accommodate the growth of my business?

Absolutely! Whether you're a small charity shop or expanding into a larger enterprise, our solutions can seamlessly grow with your business needs. You can effortlessly scale up or down to ensure that Wil-U continues to meet the demands of your evolving operations.

What is the largest charity size that Wil-U can support?

Wil-U is versatile and scalable, capable of accommodating charities of all sizes. Wil-U Solutions are built on the same platform as the tools used by our parent company, PXtech, which supports over 40,000 locations worldwide.

Are there user groups available for Wil-U products?

Every month, the Wil-U Family come together to discuss best practices, share wins and losses, and discuss updates on Wil-U solutions. This collaboration ensure that our users have a direct voice in the ongoing development of our products. Being a part of the Wil-U Family means actively contributing to the future of our solutions and benefiting from the collective knowledge and experiences of the community.

Is Wil-U an employee-owned business?

Yes, Wil-U is proud to be an employee-owned business. This means that our employees have a direct stake in the company, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and commitment. As employee-owners, our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional products and services, ensuring the success and satisfaction of our valued customers.
